Sin City Bites: Our Favorite Eats in Las Vegas

Hey, fellow foodies! Get ready to feast your eyes (and your bellies) on our favorite restaurants in Las Vegas! This city is a culinary playground, and we’ve rounded up some of the best spots on The Strip.Β  We’ve been to each of these spots 2+ times and they keep us coming back for more.Β  They are located more centrally since that’s where we spend most of our time, but we do have suggestions further out on each end, they just didn’t quite make the cut for this list.Β  Straight up, we’re not big on brunch because well, I’m really only there for the mimosas and they’re good any time of day.Β  But we think you’ll love these gems for lunch, dinner or a quick bite!Β

From cozy hideaways to buzzing hotspots, each place has its own unique flavor and vibe. They’re all wheelchair friendly, with gluten-free options and some even catering to vegan diets!

So buckle up, and let’s explore the delicious side of Sin City together!

Ways to my Heart:
Buy me food,
Make me food,
Be food

We highly recommend making reservations, especially if you have plans to catch a show after dinner. We usually use the OpenTable app, but if the restaurant isn’t listed there, no worries, we’ve included links for you – just click on the restaurant name in this post & you can call or book directly through their website.Β  If the time you need isn’t available, just keep checking back! People cancel their reso’s all the time.Β

located centrally on The Strip

One of our favorite spots to eat in Vegas is Nacho Daddy, a Tex-Mex gem that’s been serving up gourmet nachos since 2010. Located centrally on the Strip right across from Aria, this place never disappoints and is a staple of ours every trip.Β  The portions are big, the food is served fast, and the atmosphere is always lively with fun music videos playing. The staff is super friendly, and their award-winning margaritas are a must-try – Daddy’s Original & Strawberry margs, yum! We also love ordering the Knights Nachos to share, they’re loaded with perfectly marinated filet mignon and topped with fresh jalapenos, in-house-made queso & other delicious toppings. Their motto – never a dry chip, and we haven’t found one yet!Β  They even have gluten-free & vegan options!Β  And if you’re feeling adventurous, you can down their infamous scorpion shot! (Or just their house tequila is really good too).

located in New York New York

Ask to sit on their “patio” so you can enjoy some great people-watching on the casino floor while you dine.

This authentic Italian restaurant offers a delicious variety of dishes, from fresh handmade pasta to steaks, chops, chicken, fish, and seasonal soups and salads. I’m absolutely obsessed with their Tagliatelle Bologneseβ€”it’s perfect for me since my stomach doesn’t handle potato starches or gluten well, and this egg noodle dish hits the spot every time. They offer other gluten-free pasta options, which is a huge bonus! Jeff’s go-to’s are the Grilled Beef Tenderloin, or if you want to practice your Italian, the Filetto Al Vino Rosso or the Ravioli Brasato Norcina (Braised Short Rib Ravioli)

Carmine’s truly takes Southern Italian family-style dining to another level. Known for their massive portions of classic Italian dishes, we quickly learned that everything is meant to be shared. The lasagna was literally bigger than my head, and the Shrimp Scampi left Jeff completely stuffed! Needless to say, we needed a to-go box.Β  Opened in 1990 in NYC & opened in Vegas in 2014, Carmine’s dishes are packed with fresh ingredients and bold flavors.Β  It has a cozy, warm & friendly atmosphere that makes you feel like you’re at your Grandma’s.

If you can’t finish your dinner, grab a to-go box & save for later or pay it forward to someone in need if you have a show to catch.

located on the Linq Promenade

Virgil’s Real Barbecue, a sister restaurant to Carmine’s – offers authentic Southern BBQ with roots in NYC dating back to 1994 & they hit Vegas in 2016. The restaurant features an in-house bakery for their mouthwatering buttermilk biscuits, and the meat is smoked low and slow for up to 10 hours with a unique blend of flavors.

Our go-to dishes are the Texas Beef Brisket Melt and the Memphis-style Duroc Pork Spare Ribs (available in 1/4 or 1/2 racks – Β½ rack for me of course). We can’t resist pairing them with their roasted Brussels sprouts & you can’t have bbq without baked beans.Β  Your choice of sauces right at the table which I love ’cause I’m a sauce fiend.

They also have a fun cocktail menu, delicious margaritas, and an excellent craft beer selection. Dj’s, live music and if you’re in town on a Tuesday, don’t miss the line dancing at 7 PM!

Now, let’s be real here…we’re pretty basic when it comes to our Vegas dining habits.Β  We’ll splurge on one pricey meal – two if Jeff hits it a win at the slots!Β  Our “$” guide is in CAD (ugh exchange rates), so just imagine everything costing a bit less if you’re lucky enough not to deal with the conversion.Β  Either way, we’ve got you covered for some seriously good eats that are worth every buck.

located in The Cosmopolitan

Blue Ribbon carries on the iconic vision that began 25 years ago at the original Blue Ribbon in NYC – famously known as the place “where chefs go to eat.” This spot offers such a cool mix of dining experiences, blending the vibe of a saloon with an oyster bar, American classics, and flavors from around the world. There’s really something for everyone, making it one of those places that you can order something completely different each time.

We decided to include this on the list because on our first visit, we seriously gave it a 9.5/10.Β  It had a great atmosphere, and my fried chicken and veggies were perfectly juicy, crispy, and full of flavor, while Jeff’s salmon was fresh, cooked to perfection & filling despite the look of it’s size.

However, on our second trip, the restaurant was extremely loud (or we’re old?!), my fried chicken was a bit of a letdownβ€”the batter was bland, the chicken a bit dry, and the veggies undercooked. Jeff tried the Branzino this time, which he enjoyed, though he still preferred the salmon. Dishes we can always count on though, is their Cream of Tomato Soup, Baked Oysters & Loaded Baked Potato Skin – all are a must!

It’s pretty rare to leave a Vegas dinner unimpressed, but even the best chefs can have an off night. We still think it’s worth checking out, and we’ll give it another try. If it’s just “okay” again next time, we’ll be taking it off the list.

It always takes twice as long as you think to get anywhere in Vegas, especially on foot. Most restaurants have a 15-minute grace period, but you don’t want to push your luck or end up late for your post-dinner plans.Β

located in Planet Hollywood Casino

Strip House Steakhouse, on the mezzanine level of PH (right next to Criss Angel’s theater), is the ultimate classic steakhouse. We have to admit, the name threw us off at firstβ€”we avoided it a few trips to Vegas, thinking there might be partially nude servers or strippers as dinner entertainment. We’re not prudes, I just didn’t want my steak with a side of ti**ies.Β  But we were totally wrong! The vibe is more refined with a touch of burlesque, featuring a moody and sensual atmosphere, male servers in crisp white jackets, and walls adorned with original Studio Manasse prints of 1930s burlesque stars.Β  Classy AF.

And the food? Absolutely incredible. The steaks are perfectly cooked, melt-in-your-mouth delicious, and we find ourselves craving them long after we leave. Even their creamed spinach is to die for. Our go-to orders: Jeff loves the dry-aged rib eye with the Oscar topper and twice-baked potato gratin, while I go for the 8oz filet with bordelaise sauce and black truffle creamed spinach. The sides are meant to be shared, but I love just that spinach!Β  If you have room, don’t miss their signature 24-layer chocolate cakeβ€” this goth lasagna is indulgent perfection. Even their bread and butter is worth raving about!

Definitely a splurge but lick your plate clean worth it.

If you’re celebrating a Birthday, Anniversay or any other special occasion – let whichever restaurant know when you’re making a reso.Β  In our experience, they’re amazing at putting a nice touch on our special day.

located on The Strip, across from the Bellagio

Ole Red is a super fun spot with live music with a classic red tractor hanging from the ceiling.Β  If you’re lucky, try to snag the infamous table #777 – it’s a corner balcony table with an amazing view of the Strip and the Bellagio Fountains.

I’m a sucker for ribs, so I got a rack with what I thought was a side salad, but it was huge! The ribs were fall off the bone delicious and of course ‘slaw & a marg were necessary.

As always, here’s the truth – the food and drinks are definitely tasty & big portions but heads up – a bit overpriced. If you’re coming here, you’re really coming to enjoy the Nashville vibe with your yummy grub. It’s still new to Vegas, and with a big name like Blake Shelton attached to it, it’s in high demand, so be prepared for a wait. And who knows, Blake has been known to pop in from time to time!

On our lastest visit, we stopped by after a show for the music and a drink, and so they sent us to the 4th floor.Β  We didn’t realize this is where the DJ takes over & that night it was music for the millenials which caused me to drop it like it’s hot… but almost not make it back up again.

It was packed, and we didn’t think we’d find a seat. But then, an awesome couple invited us to join them at the end of their long table and just like that, a new friendship was born! They are so kind and fun, totally our laid back vibe and we’re really grateful to have met them. We even met up again at the hotel pool, with future plans to catch a football game together.Β  So don’t be afraid to offer up a seat to a stranger, especially at this fun place – you never know the friendships you’ll create!

Quick & Easy Bites

We get it, sometimes Vegas can get very expensive so whether you wanna watch your pennies, grab a quick bite on your way to a show or you’re coming back to your hotel wasted at 2am, either way these are our go tos for a quickie πŸ˜‰

on The Strip in Grand Bazaar Shops & in The Shoppes in Mandalay Bay. Great cocktails, and you can turn any burger into a salad too!Β  Decorated with Mark Wahlburg movie memorabilia.

in The Cosmopolitan.

Several food options here but Hattie B’s Nashville Hot Chicken is my fave.Β  I love spicy foods, but my max level there is Hot.Β  Damn Hot & Shut the Cluck Up are for enthusiasts only.Β  You’ve been warned.

in New York New York, grab a huge slice & a beer for $11.95! Enjoy them just outside in The ParkΒ

in Planet Hollywood – thick & meaty hot sandwiches, for Jeff the meat lover.Β  Great value.

on The Strip in Miracle Mile Shops.Β  I don’t know what it is, but The Bell here is sooo much better than in Canada!Β  This is a usual late night snack stop for us. Doritos Los Tacos Supreme…yes please.

Seen it all, or is it new… tell us what speaks to you!
